Compostable Tableware Material

Currently, the biodegradable materials that have been mass-produced and widely used are polylactic acid (PLA) and polybutylene terephthalate (PBAT). PLA has good transparency, biocompatibility and biodegradability, but because of its short board such as poor heat resistance and poor impact strength, it limits its industrial application. PBAT has the advantages of good processability and biodegradability, so it is often used to toughen and modify other biopolyesters. The two materials of PLA and PBAT have good complementarity, especially in the mechanical properties. Increasing the PBAT content in a certain interval will increase the impact resistance and elongation at break of PLA/PBAT composites to varying degrees. People often use the blend of the two to prepare materials with excellent properties.  PLA/PBAT materials can replace traditional high-density polyethylene film materials, such as shopping bags, plastic wrap, mulching film, etc.
